Jim Fletcher was proud to serve our country as a United States Marine in the late-1950’s. He was a member of the elite Presidential Guard under President Dwight D. Eisenhower and attended many state functions. One of Jim’s most vivid memories as a Marine is when he arranged for his father to attend one of the parades he marched in. His father watched proudly from the viewing stand where he was seated between the Secretary of the Navy and the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

After his honorable discharge from service, Jim graduated college, earning a B.S. as well as a Masters Degree in accounting. He passed the exam for Certified Public Accountants on his first attempt and went on to become the Chief Financial Officer for several companies, including R.R. Donnelly & Sons of Chicago, IL, a Fortune 200 company. After leaving Chicago and enjoying a brief retirement in Hilton Head Island, SC, Jim founded UniSource Mortgage Services which opened their doors in January 1997.
